Head over to the link in bio for some recs to make s, we’re here to help you give that inspo a susty makeover. Here are some of our favorite looks from this week, recreated with ethically made and sustainable pieces!

Arca for Proenza Schouler Spring 2023

My literal angel! I was ecstatic that multi-hyphenate musician Arca opened the Proenza Schouler show on September 8th. To see a trans Venezuelan woman serving face, in a look reminiscent of traditional Cuban dance dresses? *Cue Bella Hadid’s French accent* it was to die for no? I based the susty version around these incredible dual toned bloomers from La Villa Clementine. For the top half, I mimicked the black crop with a secondhand Nicholas top from The Real Real layered over a thrifted fringe bra from Depop. I love the bags from Pixie Mood, and I had to add this vegan leather Bubbly Clutch. To finish, I added these bubbly platform sandals from Melissa and some black mid-height socks from Los Angeles apparel.

Ami and Aya at Collina Strada SS23

Neutral fall is over, and the hot pink tones of the Barbiecore aesthetic are here for the season! Japanese music duo Ami and Aya twinned all throughout fashion week; their outfits for the Collina Strada show on September 12th could only be differentiated by their different colored shoulder bags. I am obsessed with the color theme of these outfits, and even though they are majorly fabulous, they look comfortable too! These pink trousers from Fashion Brand Company might be a little more wearable for daily use than Ami and Aya’s silky pants, and they’re just as cute! This Bud Bud Press button up top is on theme with its deeper pink and classic silhouette. I dressed the look up with some red business casual kitten heels from Ma’am and a satin Bounce Baguette Bag from Room Shop.

Jordan Underwood for Berriez

As a ganja gurl myself, and lover of the latest Berriez Vicez Collection, I wanted to recreate this bright and green look, you know, for the next time I light up on the runway. At the event, I saw Lydia Okello wearing this Wray top, and thought it would be perfect for the recreation of this look. It’s cropped and bright, and a subtle nod to the neon weed leafs on the Berriez top. I love the patchwork on the skirt. While looking for a similar upcycled vibe, I found this handmade patchwork skirt on Depop. It adds an alternative touch, but has patches that match the gingham pattern of the top.

Rickey Thompson at Coach Spring 2023

As someone whose hair part was on the side of their head in middle school, I am a stan of any and all leather-and-plaid combinations. Rickey Thompson was a vision in leather at the Coach show on September 12th. Like the jacket that Thompson wears, my counterpart is a statement Leather jacket from Deadwood made from leftover leather materials. The leather rope features adds an edge similar to the effect the plaid collar gives Thompson’s jacket. (SSENSE Hack! Search “recycled” to find some repurposed pieces. I found these Agolde recycled leather pants to complete the all-leather look. I accessorized with some secondhand luxury from The Real Real: this plaid Burberry tote and a baroque-y choker from Fennuala Belle

Collina Strada SS23

Collinda Strada’s SS23 show featured a collection made from deadstock fabrics, rose-derived sylk, orange fiber organza, acrylic scraps, and other recycled matter. They were one of a few designers who openly talked about the sourcing of their materials. This is wearable art! When I saw this top, I immediately thought of this handmade upcycled duster I’ve been eyeing from the Etsy shop WearMeOutTonight. Poorly Curated is one of my favorite online vintage shops, and these vintage low rise Dolce & Gabbana jeans, paired with a pink Parade thong, would look so insanely cute! To finish off the look, I added pastel pink and purple Veja sneakers and a thick silver choker with color accents from Georgina Treviño Jewelry. If I wasn’t in the middle of my no buy month(s), I would purchase every single piece here!
