Here’s What Sustainable Baddie Wore to NYFW SS25

Although the universe of exciting innovations in sustainability and style is expanding, New York Fashion Week remains the center point for global fashion. Sustainability has developed a larger presence at NYFW, so we witnessed more susty style moments than ever. We were thrilled to have three of our SB team members attending the hottest sustainable showcases, including Carla, our angel on Pacific time, who popped over for their first-ever fashion week (!).

From Caroline Zimbalist to Collina Strada, here’s how SB staff styled themselves for this season’s runway shows and celebrations.

“Sporty sailor” look: I wore this to the Allina Liu and Sam Finger shows.

I wore my ShuShu/tong top from Depop, an old Express black skirt, borrowed blue socks, a blue sailor hat from Ang Kiriakos, a silver bracelet from Personal Fears, and my Cecilie Bahnsen x Asics collab Mary Jane sneakers.

“Emo in red” look: I wore this to the PH5 and Jrat shows.

I wore a red Comme des Garcons shirt from The Real Real laid over a PH5 dress from The Real Real, a thrifted tie and ring, red bow clips from The Room Shop, Marge Sherwood bag from the SSENSE sale, and my ShuShu/Tong x Charles & Kieth collab red Mary Jane shoes.

“Space age alien” look: I wore this to the Melke, Caroline Zimbalist, and Mila Sullivan shows.

I wore a purple Miu Miu dress shirt from The Real Real, red bloomers and balaclava I made from thrifted yarn, Kiko Kostadinov shoes from Vestiaire, a choker from Justine Clenquet, and a thrifted belt chain, ring, and armband.

“Sexy Swamp” Look: I wore this to Caroline Zimbalist (1 of 3 outfits for that day, but definitely my fave from the week).

The top is borrowed from Caroline Zimbalist and made from a special bio-plastic created by the designer. I layered it over this dress, borrowed from Taottao, which has a skirt made from a zero-waste pattern cut so no fabric scraps are produced. I paired them with my fave apple leather boots from Prev and a red recycled leather Ganni purse. My earrings were handcrafted by My Dearest World and everything else is secondhand.

“New Member of the Doodlebops” Look: I wore this to a Collina Strada after-party, so of course, I had to wear all of my Collina Strada pieces I’ve invested in over the years.

The doodle skirt, doodle pants, amoeba necklace, and funky purse are all from Collina Strada. I paired it with this upcycled top from Savannah Oh and shoes from Nicole Saldaña. My headscarf is from Marimekko and everything else is secondhand.

“I’m not a regular CEO, I’m a cool CEO” Look: This was actually for some pre-NYFW festivities but I ADORE this outfit so much.

I’ve been experimenting with incorporating more masculine pieces into my wardrobe, which includes this suit set by Emma Mulholland on Holiday. As a CEO, I couldn’t help but imagine this is the exact type of thing I’d wear into our future Sustainable Baddie office, though for now, I’ll proudly strut around town and my home office like this. I wore it with this Orseund Iris top that I rented from Hauteline, my Prev boots made from apple leather, and my vintage Anna Sui purse, which I got from Poorly Curated. I embellished my jacket with a Marimekko pin and brooch from a stoop sale, and my gold/pearl earrings were borrowed from Keane. Everything else is secondhand.

“Plastic Jesus” look: I wore this to Mila Sullivan, Melke, and Caroline Zimbalist.

The dress is secondhand from Poorly Curated/Vintage Store, the boots are Matisse, the bag & the little scarf tied to it are thrifted from Rumors Vintage in Amsterdam, the rings were gifts, and the bag charms were also gifts.

“Cemetery Fairy” Look: I wore this to 5000.

The tube top dress is from Luz Muerta, the shorts are from Los Angeles Apparel via Depop, the shoes were gifted from Alohas, and the bag is a silver Chloe Paddington via The RealReal.

“Angel In the Club” Look: I wore this to Allina Liu and Sam Finger.

The vintage Christian Dior Nightgown is via Depop, the shoes I bought at a small boutique in Paris where the owner was the designer as well, I thrifted the Corset at Rogue, the bag is a Sirrah Archive gathered charm bag, and the necklace is Justine Clenquet.
