Boycott These 9 Insidious Corporations Funding Genocide (with Better Alternatives)
Boycott, Divest, Sanctions (BDS) is a Palestinian Liberation movement to pressure businesses, corporations banks, and governments, to withdraw support from the Israeli military and government. Divestment and sanctions campaigns ask us to pressure our leaders and institutions, whereas boycotts demand us to protest with our dollar. According to the BDS National Committee, “boycotts involve withdrawing support [money and patronage] from Israel's apartheid regime, complicit Israeli sporting, cultural and academic institutions, and from all Israeli and international companies engaged in violations of Palestinian human rights.”
There is an influx of information on who and what to boycott in the wake of the Israeli militant violence in Gaza. To help our baddies make sense of these boycotts, we created a list of susty and Palestinian-owned or endorsed brands to replace the ones we’re boycotting (peep this link for BDS’s official compilation of companies!). This Vox article offers a thorough overview of BDS for Palestine; we’ve also linked receipts for each company’s ties to the Israeli apartheid and Palestinian genocide, so be sure to take a look!
If you have other susty Palestinian-approved brands to add to this list, leave a comment below!
