9 (More) Sustainable & Unique Halloween Costumes You Can Also DIY

When the clock strikes Oct 1st, there’s only one single thing on all of our minds… What tf am I going to be for Halloween? As baddies, we have to hold each other accountable to a certain level of creativity and quality. I don't want to see any t-shirts with “This is my costume” printed across the front. Not this year, not any year.

Don’t freak out; we have a fresh list of costume ideas and sustainable shops you can source them from (but of course, DIY if you can!). And if this list doesn’t speak to your spooky vibes, you can check out all our past costume ideas (See? No excuses.). Let's get into it.

1. Challengers

Let us join the masses in saying that Challengers costumes will be all the rage this year. But there are so many looks to choose from. We recommend the iconic room scene…

2. Charli XCX  (and extras) in “360” music video

Summer might be over, but BRAT is not (duh). Charli offers us so many looks, but the extremely HOT “360” music video presents a simple vibe to pull off (and can make for an incredible group costume, too).

3. Chappell Roan: Tiny Desk-inspired (or just vibesss)

Honor our sweet angel queen Chappell by celebrating one of her MILLIONS of iconic looks. Props to anyone who tries out her Gov Ball fit,  but you can also try something a little simpler with a look inspired by her tiny desk set.

4. Joan Of Arc

Baz Luhrmann just announced his new movie, Jehanne d’Arc. So, get ahead of the game and dress up as this iconic femme heroine before she becomes all the rage. Then you can always say…I did it first.

5. Strega Nona

Mob Wife had its moment and now it's time for the next Italian-inspired aesthetic to grace our presence: Italian grandma core, Strega Nona-chic, whatever you want to call it…

6. Beetlejuice

@BlackwoodCastle

All hail our queen Winona Ryder, but this year, instead of dressing up as Lydia (or the new Deetz on the block, Astrid), get your best Michael Keaton impression ready.

6. Fancy Nancy

Maximalism has always been in, which makes this costume sweet and simple. Grab your favorite accessories and the old princess tiara you got at your bestie's 25th birthday party and ta-da! You are everybody's favorite children's book character!

8. Saltburn

Euphoria might be on a hiatus but we can still dress up as everyone's favorite bad boy, Jacob Elordi—this year as his wealthy private school boy counterpart…

9. Emma Stone in Poor Things

Frankenstein and his bride are so overdone (thanks to Cady Heron), but this year, Emma Stone put the concept back on the map in Poor Things. So, step out in a new kind of Frankenstein as Bella Baxter.
